OF ALL THE EDITIONS of the Bible to see print, Revolve: The Complete New Testament may be the most unusual: It's set up to read like a teen-zine for girls, offering beauty tips, dating hints, quizzes and more. The packaging may be jazzy, but girls will find that the details are a bit more conservative: One beauty "tip" advises girls to use the time spent applying sunscreen to "talk to God." As for what boys like in girls, it is apparently comportment, conservative dress and minimal makeup.

So far, according to publisher Thomas Nelson, the response has been positive; the first run of 40,000 copies sold out, prompting a second printing of more than 100,000 copies. A version for teenage boys is also in the works.
