AOL and MSN Announce Enterprise Instant Messaging

America Online has released Enterprise AIM, a version of its instant messaging product targeted at the corporate market, and Microsoft Corp. has announced plans for the availability of its new MSN Messenger Connect for Enterprises service. AOL's Enterprise AIM Services suite is designed to allow corporations to manage IM activity on their own without their customers having to access outside servers and product can be integrated with Apple Computer's iChat software. Enterprise AIM allows enterprises to manage and control AIM service communications via the AIM Enterprise Gateway and deploy AIM service on the desktop. MSN Messenger Connect empowers businesses to communicate instantly with the more than 75 million users of MSN Messenger. The new service delivers functionality like logging and auditing of instant message communications with customers, capturing the data to provide a searchable record of transactions and instant message conversations. www.aoltimewarner.com;www.microsoft.com
