COSMO GIRLS REV THEIR ENGINES.Navigation: Main page Author: Ebenkamp, Becky Section: Out of the boxMACRO
If Cosmopolitan were to run a story on the top sex spots outside of the boudoir, Volvos wouldn't make the cut. In a study conducted by the mag, less than half of women (39%) copped to having copulated in their cars. When Cosmo heard that auto advertisers were having trouble targeting gals who reflect the mag's readership demo, it posed the Cosmo Auto Survey to young women who own or are in the market for cars in the next six months. Some findings: • Traffic jammies: 75% of respondents say they have driven sans shoes or in their pajamas. • Let's make a dealer less pushy: 47% of women said car lots should be less aggressive; 31% said cut the condescension. • Psst! Pinto: Three out of four respondents (73%) get auto info from the Web, while two-thirds consult friends and family (66%). • Driving force: Only a third (31%) said cost is the most influential factor when they shop for a car, but 73% said it's what drives their final purchase decision. • Heat waiver: Air conditioning is the must-have feature for 96%. Runnersup: power locks/windows (87%), a sound system (78%), power adjustable seats. Women on their driving stylesFun (I enjoy driving) 35% Defensive (Too many crazies out there) 22% Aggressive (Yes, I do own the road) 14% Practical (Call me slow and cautious) 14% Stressed (I'd rather be chauffeured) 8% Relaxed (Driving is my Prozac) 7% How women define their cars An expression of my personal style 36% Just a mode of transportation 26% Pure Freedom 20% An extension of my apartment/home 13% The ultimate escape from my life 5% ~~~~~~~~ By Becky Ebenkamp in the Fair Use guidelines of the 1976 U.S. Copyright Act. info [at] singlearticles.com Powered by CommonSense |
