Fiat, Google team up for online Games contest

Dateline: [TURIN, ITALY]

Fiat and Google are teaming up in an online contest inviting users to win cars by hunting for Fiat Sedici vehicles hidden around Turin and the sites hosting the Olympic Games.

Contestants go to sedicicontest.it and start by downloading Google Earth, a free global mapping system using maps and satellite images launched last year by Google. On the bilingual English/Italian site, and on the company's Fiat and Ferrari Web sites, the Sedici Contest is billed as "the first contest that lets you look down on the world from on high." The Sedici contest appears automatically in the list of "Places" on Google Earth. Searchers look for the four Sedici cars "hidden" in the Olympic zone and choose an icon that represents a location. The contest ends March 31, when names will be drawn to pick winners. The contest was developed by Testawebedv, the Web-solutions company of Italy's largest ad agency, independent Armando Testa Group, Turin. Banner ads promoting the contest are also running on the Web sites of Italian media like TV network RAI (rai.it), news agency Ansa (ansa.it), sports paper La Gazzetta dello Sport (gazzetta.it) and a ski information site (skiinfo.it)
