Fortenberry To Give Cunningham Donations To Charity.

Republican Rep. Jeff Fortenberry said Wednesday he will donate to charity campaign contributions received last year from former Rep. Randy (Duke) Cunningham, R-Calif., the Omaha World-Herald reported. Fortenberry announced he would give the $4,000 he received from Cunningham's PAC, American Prosperity, to the People's City Mission in Lincoln. The Nebraska Democratic Party had called on Fortenberry to give up the "dirty dollars." Cunningham resigned from Congress this week after admitting that he had accepted bribes from defense contractors. "To help restore confidence in the institution of Congress, [Fortenberry] believes it is the right thing to do to donate the money," said Paul Webster, Fortenberry's chief of staff.
