Brandweek has hired four reporters and editors who bring a wealth of journalism experience to the magazine. Robert Klara is Brandweek's new features editor, replacing Michael Applebaum (now freelancing and consulting for the magazine). Klara has been managing editor for the past year at Architecture; prior to that he was executive editor of Restaurant Business and assistant editor of Town & Country. His freelance articles have appeared in a variety of magazines and newspapers, including USAirways' Attaché, American Heritage, Time Out New York and the New York Daily News. Constantine von Hoffman comes in as senior reporter covering the household products, financial services and credit card categories. Based in Brandweek's Boston office, von Hoffman has nearly 20 years of journalism experience, most recently as a senior writer at CMO--the now-defunct marketing monthly--since its inception in June 2004. He has written on topics from China to P&G; his daily "Collateral Damage" blog has included biting commentary on the marketing industry. Jenny Holland is Brandweek's new deputy online reporter, working directly with Rory Thompson, senior online editor. Educated in Ireland, Holland joins the staff from Self, where she was a reporter/researcher. She recently completed the foreword for her late father's book, Misogyny: The World's Oldest Prejudice, to be published this summer. She previously worked local news and political beats at The Providence Journal and as an assistant at The New York Times metro desk, where she wrote some of the paper's post 9/11 Pulitzer Prize award-winning "Portraits of Grief." Steve Miller comes on board as senior reporter covering automotive, appliances and real estate. He has more than 12 years of newspaper experience, including stints at The Washington Times and the Dallas Morning News. In 2002, he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for a four-part series on African American economic strides that ran in The Washington Times. Miller will be based near Detroit. ~~~~~~~~ By Barry Janoff in the Fair Use guidelines of the 1976 U.S. Copyright Act. info [at] singlearticles.com Powered by CommonSense |
