GIRLS' EYE FOR THE NAKED GUY.Navigation: Main page Author: Kaye, Joyce RutterTrollbäck, LisaPruzan, Todd Section: F.O.B.
Fashionable diseases, an invitation with legs, group sex in high school, and more Until recently, the number of women's porn titles on the newsstand could be counted on one finger: Playgirl. (Or two if you counted Lucky.) Believing there's an audience for photos of naked, unshaved dudes-next-door, last winter, stylist Micole Taggart and jewelry designer Robin Adams began writing, editing, photographing, and publishing Sweet Action, their Brooklyn-based quarterly delivering "porn for girls." "Men have Hustler, Maxim, Playboy and Juggs," Adams says, "and what do women have? A big fat zero." Designed by the anonymous "Laura" of thedesign-pedestrian with the lo-fi hipster esthetic and attitude typical of zines, Sweet Action intersperses pictorial displays of tattoos, body hair, and impressive endowments with advice on how to give a hand job (backed by field research!) and "What to do when you're horny, broke, and lazy." Issue No. 2, published in June, features cartoonist Hope G.'s fictional account of a meeting between artist Cynthia Plaster Caster and New York band the Giraffes.
