This pioneering woman isn't a household name, but college co-ed Alexis Mihelich will soon look familiar to fans of the beloved barcade game Golden Tee â€" or at least her swing will. The 22-year-old University of New Orleans senior was just another Division I player before stepping into the game for LPGA Tour pro Laura Diaz, who had a scheduling conflict. Sweet-swinging Mihelich donned a skintight black suit overlaid with reflectors to track her skeletal movements, while motion-capture cameras recorded more than 1,000 less-than-comfy swings. "There wasn't even room to sweat," says Mihelich, who got the job with help from her godfather, a Golden Tee executive. Her digital doppelganger (who's as long as the fellas) tees off this spring, when the game's latest version, Golden Tee Live, hits sports bars. Since gamers have been staring at a pixelated Peter Jacobsen for years, Mihelich expects them to lob a few beer-fueled catcalls at her virtual self. Not that she minds. "That just comes with the territory of being a golf girl."
