googling made easy.Navigation: Main page Author: Unknown Section: classroom techTEACHER TECH HELP
Q I typed "Civil War" into Google, and got 121,000,000 results! Help! How can I find the best resources? A To narrow the pool, first try being more specific, e.g. "Civil War battlegrounds." Keep in mind that the most important search terms should always go first, so go with "Civil War Lesson plans elementary" instead of the other way around. Whenever possible, use quotation marks to search for a specific phrase, perhaps combining it with other keywords: "'The Battle of Antietam' official, records." A nifty trick to eliminate unwanted results is to use negative terms. Typing in Abraham Lincoln -Civil War," for example, will only turn up info on the prez not related to the war. Keep going, and you may uncover a "googlewhack": any search term that only produces a single result!
