Hardcover Bestsellers/NonFiction.Navigation: Main page Author: Maryles, Daisy
The initial print run for Marley was 50,000 copies; current copies in print after 27 printings: 1,500,000. First tour was to seven cities; because of demand, Grogan will be touring 32 cities this spring. Bach is doing pretty well in the real estate and book markets. Broadway's initial printing for Automatic Millionaire Homeowner was 286,000 copies; after three trips back to press it's up to 355,000. First-week sales were driven by strong national media that included a three-part series on The CBS Early Show. In addition, Bach launched his 14-city "Great American Homeowner Challenge Tour" (see PW, Feb. 27) with a packed event (more than 3,000 attendees) at the Javits Center in N.Y.C. on March 9. A statistic Bach often throws out to his audiences is that the average homeowner in the U.S. is more than 34 times wealthier than the average renter. Hey, hey, hey! Hay House set a record last week, with two books on the national charts. It breaks that record this week, placing three among the top 10. The latest is Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust by Immaculée Iligabiza. Inspiration author Dyer took Immaculée on some of his speaking engagements--who better to talk about inspiration than a woman who survived the Rwandan holocaust by hiding in a priest's tiny bathroom with seven other women for 91 days. She emerged, somehow able to have forgiveness in her heart for her would-be killers (her whole family was massacred). After four printings, the book is up to 250,000 copies. Dr. Leslie Baumann, a trailblazer in the growing field of Cosmetic dermatology, was featured on the cover of a number of dermatology trade journals and in women's magazines, including Elle, Allure and O. Bantam cooperated with companies whose products are featured in the book, including Philosophy, Skin Store.com and BioTherm--each of the firms mentioned blasted information out to hundreds of thousands of online subscribers.
