Incase Debuts Combination Charger for iPod

accessories for Apple products, including Apple Store exclusives such as the skateboard- and laptop-toting DC/Incase Skatebag (in collaboration with DC Shoes). The company is expanding into the electronics realm with the release of its new Incase Charger, which the company says is the only dual-input charger available for the iPod.

The $50 Charger lets you charge your iPod's battery from both DC (car accessory) sockets and standard

AC outlets. The DC plug works with both 12- and 24-volt sockets, and the AC plug--which folds inside the

Charger's rubberized body when not in use--provides worldwide voltage compatibility (although you may need a plug adapter in some countries).

The Charger also features a line-level audio-output jack that lets you listen to your iPod through a home stereo or car audio system with a line-level auxiliary input. (You can also use the audio output with cassette adapters and FM transmitters; the line-level signal provides better audio quality than the iPod's headphone jack.)

The company promises that the Charger is just the first in a series of upcoming electronics products. It works with all iPods that have a dock connector, including the iPod mini, via a 5-foot cable with a dock plug. The Charger is available exclusively from online and retail Apple Stores and from Incase ($50, www.goincase.com).
