Apple has new iPods out for the holidays, but the competition is getting hot Apple's iPod accounts for about sixty percent of the portable digitalmusic players sold, but this holiday season the market is being flooded with devices that offer features it can't match. Lower prices, support for video, FM receivers and larger hard drives in the miniplayer category (five gigabytes compared to Apple's four) make competing devices a better bet than ever. Here are the pros and cons of some of the hottest. Apple iPod Photo40GB, PC and Mac compatible, $500Pros Digital photos and album art are displayed on a two-inch screen; superb interface; easy iTunes syncing; fifteen-hour battery life (less when looking at photos). Cons Vertical photos on small screen are tiny; chunkier than audio-only iPods; pricey.
