Not long after several colleges embraced the notion of employing Apple iPods as instructional tools, five schools in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch district in Texas have begun using the MP3 audio players in the classroom as well, the Dallas Morning News reports. "They beg for it," says Katie Stemmermann, a kindergarten teacher at Country Place Elementary. "They don't think of it as homework. It's a good connection between school and home, taking the classroom home." After an evaluation process next spring, the $31,000, 116-player pilot program might be expanded to include all schools in the district. in the Fair Use guidelines of the 1976 U.S. Copyright Act. info [at] singlearticles.com Powered by CommonSense |
