IRA's online Career Center proves popular

Launched in October, IRA's new online Career Center is already drawing many employers and job seekers in the field of literacy education. The Career Center makes it easy to find or post jobs, and the service is free to job seekers.

Advertisers can post jobs related to literacy education at a cost of only US$150 per job per month. It's a self-service operation; once advertisers have paid for their ad, they can create it online using the easy-to-follow instructions provided. When finished, they can immediately post their ad.

The Career Center is designed to assist visitors in their search for new opportunities in literacy education. Postings fall into one of five main categories:

• pre-K-12 classroom

• college/university faculty

• administrative

• IRA positions

• other

Job seekers respond directly to the advertisers. Listings within any given category in the Career Center are searchable by category, location, level, and date posted. From there, job seekers can search by keywords. New listings are highlighted to make them easily identifiable.

You can visit the new Career Center on the IRA website under Web Resources, or go to www.reading.org/resources/jobs/index.html. For further information, call 302-731-1600, or send an e-mail to customerservice@reading.org.
