Virginia Gov. Mark Warner (D) is more policy wonk than stand-up comedian, but he got some chuckles from the pocket-protector set after a cellphone jingle in the audience interrupted his speech at a May 10 Center for American Progress event on education reform. The former cellphone-industry executive said the rude ring was music to his ears, since he may have to return to the biz after his term as governor ends next year. "You hear an annoying sound," Warner said after the phone rang. "I hear cha-ching, cha-ching." Turns out the offending phone belonged to none other than former West Virginia Gov. Bob Wise (D), who is now running a high school reform project.
