Keeping a health diary.Navigation: Main page Author: Schiedel, Bonnie Section: good for you
want to live a healthier life in 2006? Resolve to pick up a copy of Vitality & Vitals: My Health and Lifestyle Journal by Calgary duo Beverly Whitmore, a registered dietitian, and Lorna Milkovich, a registered nurse. The 144-page journal has two sections: Vitality, which is packed with tips and worksheets you can use to learn how to be healthier; and Vitals, which helps you track your health information, including prescriptions. "The book is realty easy to use," says Libbi Hood, 32, a communications project manager in Markham, Ont. "The worksheets made me realize that my eating habits are better than I thought, and getting enough steep and exercise is actually more of a problem." Anne Ostrom, a health-promotion planner for the Thunder Bay District Health Unit in Ontario, agrees. "The book helps you communicate [health concerns] with your doctor and pharmacist, and create a plan to be proactive about your health." Cost: $27, www.vitalityandvitals.com.
