RETAIL Haring's Pop Shop stopsNearly 20 years after iconic gay artist Keith Hating opened his highly acclaimed Pop Shop in New York City to "make my work accessible" to a wide range of people, the Keith Hating Foundation says it must close its doors in September due to financial constraints. The foundation said it would continue to fulfill Haring's goal of reaching people through public programs and the Internet. ![]() Haring's only exclusive retail outlet closes. BENEFITSContinental gives flight to partnersContinental Airlines has long offered travel and health benefits to the partners of current gay employees. But after openly gay flight attendant David Lee retired in 1989, the company refused to extend travel benefits to Daniel Vaillancourt, whom he married in Canada last year. EMPLOYMENTTrucking togetherAre you a gay couple with a hankering to see the country together? If so, a national trucking company wants you to consider quitting your jobs and taking up residence in a big rig. Schneider National is recruiting "nontraditional driving partners," including gays and lesbians. It's an ideal job for couples who can keep each other company and boost their income by sharing the driving, said company spokesperson Rob Reich. "I feel like I'm being paid to tour the country," said Edward Urbany (pictured), 28, whose partner is training to join him on the road. --Patrick Letellier
