MSN, Fox Sports Team Up for Sports Site

MSN and Fox Sports today announced the formation of FoxSports on MSN, which will offer exclusive online video and sports content, including the Fox program "The Best Damn Sports Show Period."

The site, which launches July 1, will include coverage from the 2004 MLB All Star Game, 2004 NFL season, NFC Playoffs, 2005 Super Bowl, and 2005 Daytona 500. Exclusive guest commentaries by Fox broadcasters like Howie Long, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman, Darryl Waltrip; MLB analyst Kevin Kennedy; and Fox NFL Sunday anchor James Brown will also be featured. The site will also include personalization features, sports fantasy opportunities and other services.

"With this alliance, we're combining the No. 1 sports broadcast outlet with the No. 1 worldwide destination to offer sports fans the ultimate online sports site," said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vp of MSN, in a statement. "Consumers can expect a winning experience on foxsports.msn.com via unprecedented video footage."

The site will also give advertisers the chance to reach the prized young-adult consumer audience. As part of the alliance, MSN will be the exclusive distributor and provider for all advertising on the co-branded site. Additionally, MSN and Fox Sports will work together to offer integrated packages that offer online and broadcast elements and advertising offerings for events, including the MLB All Star Game, the NFL season, the NFC Playoffs, and 2005 Super Bowl.
