Oklahoma Bankers Association to dedicate new facilityNavigation: Main page Author: Journal Record Staff Story Type: News
A dedication ceremony for the Oklahoma Bankers Association Robert E. Harris Center for Banker Training and Education is scheduled at 4 p.m. today at 643 NE 41st St. in Oklahoma City. "We're extremely proud of the new training facility, and we look forward to helping our member banks meet their education and training needs as the demands on our profession become more complicated," said Roger Beverage, OBA president and CEO. The association's headquarters has been at the same location, 643 NE 41st, since 1972. It started off as a fairly small building but was expanded to more than 13,000 square feet when the north addition was completed in 1983. The original office and the 1983 expansion were paid for by member banks. In 2003, OBA sold its interest in BancInsure, a bank-specific insurance company, and used part of the profits to build the new center. Each year the OBA offers between 60 and 70 educational programs.
