MOVIES

THE WILD EAST

June 16-July 1

Since 2002, the New York Asian Film Festival has been offering an annual trove of pop and pulp films from the East. This year's program, at Anthology Film Archives and the ImaginAsian, includes "Ab Tak Chhappan," an Indian film noir about a one-man police death squad; "Linda Linda Linda," from Japan, about three teen-age girls and their band; and the self-explanatory "Oh! My Zombie Mermaid." (www.subwaycinema.com.)

ART

GUERRILLA ARTISTS

June 30-Sept. 3

Graffiti's steady climb from urban-crime issue to art form will be documented with twenty pieces made by artists with such noms de spray can as Lady Pink, Daze, Crash, Tracy 168, and NOC 167. The Brooklyn Museum is the venue. (718-638-5000.)

NIGHT LIFE

ENTICING, SOUNDS

July 15

The daylong indie-rock gathering known as the Siren Music Festival returns to Coney Island for its sixth year. The performers include the Los Angeles-based goth-dance duo She Wants Revenge, England's tongue-in-cheek rockers Art Brut, the jittery Minneapolis band Tapes 'N Tapes, and others. (212-475-4022.)

THE THEATRE

FUNNY MAN

July 22

Martin Short stars in his new ersatz-autobiographical musical comedy, "Fame Becomes Me," co-conceived by Short, Marc Shaiman, and Scott Wittman. In addition to reprising famous characters like Ed Grimley and Jiminy Glick, Short, along with a cast of many, will perform such numbers as "Stepbrother de Jesus" and "Twelve Step Pappy." (212-239-6200.)

CLASSICAL MUSIC

AFTER MAUPASSANT

July 22

Glimmerglass Opera may be conservative, but it likes to give new works a chance. This year brings the world premiere of Stephen Hartke's "The Greater Good," a work inspired by Maupassant's story "Boule de Suif." (Cooperstown, N.Y. 607-547-2255.)
