In December, Boston bade farewell to the last of Fleet Bank's distinctive, muted light-green-and-blue signs. The New England bank's 2004 merger with Bank of America resulted in the makeover of Fleet's 983 ATMs in an eye-catching red. Some locals, it seems, welcome the more vibrant signage with open arms--while others greet it with faces even redder than the logos. We asked four Bostonians: What do you think of Bank of America Red? "Well, green is my favorite color. But I don't know, I kind of like the red. But isn't Sovereign [Bank] red?" --NICOLE GREIM, 19
"I never thought about it--it's bright. I think I liked green better, though." --SHARON STALWORTH, 43
"Fleet is green, Bank of America is red: They're opposites." --TZIPORA WECKER, 20
"I don't give a rat's ass, personally. I'm just glad I got completely free checking now." --CHIP, 21
