WHAT THEY GOT FOR IT…A CHAT WITH THE PREZ

The downfall of disgraced U.S. lobbyist Jack Abramoff has already provided several useful insights into the ways of U.S. politics, and now it has established a going rate for meetings with the U.S. president. Last week, former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad said Abramoff was paid US$1.2 million to arrange an Oval Office meeting for him with George W. Bush in May 2002. No word on whether the price included snacks.
