WHOLESALE INFLATION UP SLIGHTLY IN NOVEMBER

Wholesale inflation rose by just 0.1 percent in November, the best performance in three months, as falling costs of heating oil and prescription drugs blunted rising prices for natural gas and fresh vegetables, the Labor Department reported today. The Producer Price Index, which measures inflation pressures before they reach store shelves, was more subdued last month after rising a seasonally adjusted 0.4 percent in October.
